Bio: Jeff Sheldon
Founding partner Jeff Sheldon is recognized as one of the 20 best Intellectual Property Lawyers in California as well as for his leadership in creating one of the most dynamic
intellectual property law firms in the country. He is the author of the highly acclaimed treatise "How to Write a Patent Application", considered the "bible" for patent attorneys on the art of writing patent applications. His leadership in intellectual property
professional organizations has established him at the pinnacle of his professional specialty.
Jeff is regularly retained by in-house counsel of large corporations because of his command of intellectual property law, as well as his skill at achieving the client's objectives thorough the most effective and efficient means.
Jeff Sheldon's technical background is in the biomedical and chemical engineering arts. He was previously employed as a chemical engineer by Exxon and Shell Chemical, as a scientific coordinator by Lee Pharmaceutical and as a medical device development engineer by American Hospital Supply Corporation. Jeff Sheldon practices the full range of intellectual property, including prosecution, litigation, and international and domestic
licensing.
He is a summa cum laude graduate of Loyola Law School. He has a Bachelor of
Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the Carnegie Institute of Technology, and a Masters of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow. His studies in Scotland resulted from receiving the prestigious Marshall
Scholarship from the UK government.
Mr. Sheldon, a former president of Tau Beta pi at CIT, is also an adjunct professor in intellectual property law and patent law at Southwestern University Law School in Los Angeles. A frequent lecturer for the Practising Law Institute and other organizations, he is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association, an officer of the Los Angeles Intellectual Property Law Association, a columnist for the Los Angeles Daily Journal on intellectual law, and a past chairman of the Intellectual Property Law Section of the State Bar of California.
