G.G. Hearing Aid Stabilizer - Prototype

Without Stabilizer, Hearing Aid Easily Falls Off

With Stabilizer, Hearing Aid Stays Securely in Place
The Problem To Be Solved:

Hearing aids are expensive, typically costing over $1,000, and up to as much as $4,000 for digital hearing aids. Low income families receive a free hearing aid which is required to last for two years. Yet a common problem is that hearing aids often fall off, especially with babies and active children under the age of five, which makes it easy to lose the invaluable hearing aid.

Popular solutions for keeping the hearing aid on the ear include using double sided tape with mild adhesive [i.e. toupee tape for hair pieces] between the hearing aid and behind the child's ear. But this can be very uncomfortable for a child.

Another common solution is adding a string/cord and pinning it to the back of the child's clothing so it doesn't get lost if/when it falls off, etc. However this leaves the hearing aid dangling off the child's back most of the time, preventing 100% usage, as well as being demeaning to the child.

So most kids only end up wearing the hearing aid at school, and parents allow them to take it off when at home in order not to lose it when playing. On average, the hearing aid is on a child's ear less than 50% of the time.

G.G. Hearing Aid Stabilizer

G.G. Hearing Aid Stabilizer - Prototype

The G.G. Hearing Aid Stabilizer is an adjustable ear piece that clamps onto the hearing aid, with two adjustable arms that extend over the top of the ear as well as the bottom of the ear to lock the hearing aid securely in place.

This ensures that a child is able to use his hearing ability 100% of the time, as well as helps prevent the loss of the hearing aid. This provides parents with the peace of mind that their child is equipped and able to interact with his/her environment and to communicate with other people.

A hole in the clamp allows parents to easily turn the hearing aid on and off.

Benefits of the G.G. Hearing Aid Stabilizer include:

Enables 100% usage of the hearing aid.
Universal design fits all hearing aids.
The two arms are adjustable to fit any size ear.
The two arms are adjustable to accomodate ear growth.
Similar to portable earphones, it's comfortable for the child.

Made of durable plastic, it can be made in a variety of colors to match the hearing aid.

Target market:

Primarily hearing impaired children up to the age of five, however it can be utilized by children and individuals of all ages.
