Retail outlets for audio/video products like music album CDs and rental/sales of movies on video, CD-Roms, etc. often feature samples in the store by playing a CD or running a video on a display TV. Some public venues like the U.S. Post Office also offer videos for sale that are played on a TV while customers wait in line. But it's often difficult to find out what song or movie is playing if all the store clerks are busy with customers, and this causes potential sales to be lost. The Mini Marquee is an attractive, portable display case that is a miniature version of the movie poster marquees seen in lobbies or outside the theatre. Instead of holding a poster, it displays the CD jewel case, DVD case, or video jacket within the frame. Simply insert the case of the movie or soundtrack that is playing within the display case, and place it on the store counter or wall where customers can see what is playing. The display case features internal lighting that highlights the featured item, and shines through the lettering that says "NOW PLAYING". The Mini Marquee stands on its own, for example on a store counter, or can be mounted anywhere. The lighting is battery operated. Options include HDCD, CD-ROM, and DIVX, and also expands to hold DVD and VHS jackets. For home entertainment systems, the Mini Marquee adds a touch of Hollywood nostalgia as an audio/video accessory item. Target market: 1.
